Fiestas in and Around Valencia

Open air concerts, fireworks, poetry recitals and modern music...
Night entertainment is greatly influenced by the climate. People turn out and stay out until late, filling bars, cafes, terraces and night spots that start up for the Fallas festivities in March and continue well into October. There are many sites in different quarters of the city, and lots of action on the beach, along the seafront promenade that has made the Malvarrosa beach a major night time entertainment area.

January

Three Kings Day - 6th
The night of the 5th is a magical sight as the three Kings arrive in the towns by sea, helicopter, balloon, train or as in Valencia City by Camel. They deliver presents to deserving children.

San Antoni - 16th
Patron Saint of Animals
In our neighbouring village, Llombai, they have a fair and Medieval market all week. On the 17th everyone takes their pets to the church to be blessed, a sight to be seen.

March Fallas - All month, main week 12th - 19th (click for more info)
One of the biggest and most exciting festivals in Spain!
Ninots - vast and incredibly detailed papier mache figures are painstakingly made each year and erected in the streets of Valencia,(night of 15th) only to be burnt on the last night of the festival (19th). Every day at 2pm they let off thousands of euros worth of bangers, 'despertaes' (awakenings) a sound not to be missed.
Floral offering to the Virgin - 17th,18th

June Corpus Christi. Procession de las Rocas 2nd or 3rd Sunday
